Alert Description

Certain Routing Engine (RE) product (RE-S-X6-64G and REMX2K-X8-64G) manufactured at specific manufacturing locations and shipped between January 2023 and September 2024 have been identified to be assembled with incorrect size of SSD. Such RE-S-X6-64G can be identified in the following list.

The REs with the incorrect size of SSD may not able to load Junos Software beyond 23.4 as described in TSB72576 [juniper.net].

Solution

    Those customers who have received RE-S-X6-64G with incorrect size of SSD will receive 200G-SSD-UPG-KIT, that is expected to be completed by the end of January, 2025. The 200G-SSD-UPG-KIT can be installed through the procedure. If 200G-SSD-UPG-KIT is not received later than February, 2025, please contact JTAC with the serial number of RE-S-X6-64G so that JTAC can arrange and ship 200G-SSD-UPG-KIT.
