Product Affected

JNP10004-FAN2 (750-113121), JNP10008-FAN2 (750-103312), and JNP10016-FAN2 (750-103311) running on: MX10004, MX10008, MX10008 PTX10004, PTX10008, PTX10016 (Junos and Junos EVO)

Alert Description

    When the fan tray is installed and after fully seated, the following conditions may be seen. The fans are not rotating with its RPM shown as 0 RPM:

Solution

    Software code has been modified to reset the power ciruitry of the fan tray so that the fans rotate as soon as the fan tray is inserted fully. Please run Junos that contains PR1745299 fix, or Junos EVO versions that contains PR1767111 fix, accordingly.

    There is also an event-script available for those who cannot upgrade software versions right away. Please contact JTAC for more detail.

Modification History
