Alert Description

JUNOS Evolved Software version 19.4R2-S4-EVO has been replaced by a new software version (a re-spin of the original 19.4R2-S4-EVO software)

  • The original 19.4R2-S4-EVO can be identified by the image name " junos-evo-install-ptx-fixed-x86-64-19.4R2-S 4.3 -EVO.iso "
  • The replacement image name is - " junos-evo-install-ptx-fixed-x86-64-19.4R2-S 4.5 -EVO.iso "
Impact : LOW - the new re-spin version of the Junos Evolved 19.4R2-S4-EVO contains additional software fixes which did not include in the original version.
Recommendation : If you download and deploy the original 19.4R2-S4.3-EVO, we encourage you to download the "new" version especially if you are using the Sflow feature.

Note: The suggested software release for the PTX series running Junos Evolved software is 20.4R2-EVO (Please see KB21476 [juniper.net] for the latest information.)


To download Junos Software Service Release:
  1. Go to  Junos Platforms - Download Software page
  2. Input your product in the "Find a Product" search box
  3. From the Type/OS drop-down menu, select  Junos Evolved SR
  4. From the Version drop-down menu, select your version
  5. Click the Software tab
  6. Select the Install Package as need and follow the prompts

  • The original 19.4R2-S4-EVO can be identified by the image name "junos-evo-install-media-usb-ptx-fixed-x86-64-19.4R2-S4.3-EVO.img|iso"
  • The replacement image name is - "junos-evo-install-media-usb-ptx-fixed-x86-64-19.4R2-S4.5-EVO.img|iso"

Junos Evolved - disk management policy changed for /var and /tmp partition. The disk management process issues an alarm when the partition reaches 80% capacity. It starts the clean-up process at 85% capacity.

This issue is applicable to the "SFlow" feature on the Junos Evolved software. When an interface status is changed, the state of "sflow" information is incorrect causing the "aftmand" process to restart unexpectedly.
