A certain signal on MIC-3D-20GE-SFP-E has been identified to be terminated improperly, that may prevent those MICs from booting up on the following MPCs: MPC3E-3D-NG, MPC3E-3D-NG-Q, MPC2E-3D-NG, and MPC2E-3D-NG-Q When a MIC-3D-20GE-SFP-E fails to boot due to this issue, the following errors can be seen: I2C a1:0x6c probe failed. Failed to create trinity I2C dev for 0xa1/0x6c mic_level1_init: MIC(3/2) - Failed to config IX CMT: PIC 2 INIT failed CMT: Error initializing PIC 2, ID 0x0a7f I2C Failed device: group 0x41 address 0x53 CMT: cmtfpc_pic_id_read failed for FPC 8, PIC 3 jam_plugin_common_cmtfpc_pic_id_read: ideeprom_read failed for pic 3 on FPC8 err 1 i2c grp 0xa1 CMT: failed to qualify PIC 3 ID, errno 1 CMT: failed to request pic 0 online When a MIC-MACSEC-20GE fails to boot due to this issue, the following errors can be seen: gi2mic_phy_mdio_periodic_access_test: Wrong VSC8584 Vendor ID value fetched from MDIO read - expected = 0x7, actual = 1c9 gi2mic_periodic_access_sanity_check: MDIO access failure reported in MIC(0/0) This issue can manifest itself only at boot. Once a MIC boots without experiencing the errors above, such a MIC can operate normally.
