Alert Description

QFX5100, QFX5110, QFX5200 and QFX5210 require Junos Software version 18.3R1.9.  
QFX5120 requires Junos Software version 18.3R1.11.
 

Solution

There are two variations of Junos software version 18.3R1 available for QFX5000 family switches - QFX5100, QFX5110, QFX5120, QFX5200 and QFX5210

  • Version 18.3R1.9 is available and compatible with QFX5100, QFX5110, QFX5200 and QFX5210
  • Version 18.3R1.11 is available and compatible with QFX5120
Junos Software version 18.3R1.11 is based on 18.3R1.9 with a number of improvements specific to QFX5120 during system initialization. Though these two versions are very similar, we do not recommend using them interchangeably. Please use appropriate software for the appropriate platform. They are available under platform-specific software download pages.

18.3R1.9 is identifiable by having a string "18.3R1.9" in the file name. For example jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64- 18.3R1.9 -secure-limited-signed.tgz
18.3R1.11 is identifiable by having a string "18.3R1.11" in the file name. For example jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64- 18.3R1.11 -secure-limited-signed.tgz
