Alert Description

STS LED in QFX10002-60C and PTX10002-60C management panel does not work with below versions thus cannot show the status of the chassis.
  • QFX10002-60C with JUNOS version 18.1R1.9,  18.2.R1.9
  • ​PTX10002-60C with JUNOS version 18.2R1.9

Solution

This issue is tracked under PR 1332991 QFX/PTX: SW changes to support the new FPGA changes (STS status led doesn't light up")
Please Note: Both JUNOS upgrade and FPGA upgrade are necessary to ensure STS LED work correctly .
1. QFX10002-60C - Upgrade JUNOS to 18.1R1.10 or 18.2R1.10 
    PTX10002-60C - Upgrade JUNOS to 18.2R1.10
2. Upgrade RE FPGA to 2.6 or later version

 
 

1. Upgrade JUNOS version to QFX10002-60/18.1R1.10 or PTX10002-60C/18.2R1.10 release
2. Follow the instruction below to upgrade RE FPGA to version 2.6 or later version

2.1  Check the current versions of RE FPGA

2.2  Download firmware package from https://webdownload.juniper.net/swdl/dl/secure/site/1/record/80606.html
       Same firmware package will work on QFX10002-60C and PTX10002-60C 
2.2  Save the firmware package to /var/tmp directory
2.3  Install the firmware package by using the bellow command ... This process may take more than 15minutes
user@host> request vmhost software add /var/tmp/jfirmware-vmhost-x86-64-18.1R1.10.tgz
