PR 1078892 - In Qfabric solution, Non Stop Service Upgrade (NSSU) may fail when performed from 14.1X53-D15 to 14.1X53-D17 and above releases


QFabric Nonstop Software Upgrade (NSSU) may fail when upgrading from 14.1X53-D15 to 14.1X53-D17, and later releases.
The NSSU failure condition is only seen with QFX3500 and QFX3600 nodes in a Network Node Group (NNG) NW-NG-0, as a line card node switch.
After NSSU upgrade is performed, the inventory status in QFabric CLI may show connected and configured, but the line card FPCs inside the node-group are not getting upgraded when they come up from the reboot.
As a result, the nodes get disconnected and traffic is interrupted.

Solution


The problem is only observed when upgrading a QFabric solution using NSSU from 14.1X53-D15 to 14.1X53-D17, and later releases, and impacts the QFX3500 and QFX3600 when used as a line card in a Network Node Group (NNG) NW-NG-0.

The issue is NOT seen when NSSU is performed from 13.1X50 and 13.2X52 to 14.1X53-D17 and later releases.
