An improved version of MX960 high-capacity fan tray that addresses mechanical interference issue with extended cable manager, has been built with new part number 740-057995. This new version of high-capacity fan tray does not show up by CLI commands under “show chassis hardware” stanza. Its cooling functionality is not affected.

The new part has been shipped from Juniper manufacturer since December 1st, 2014.

In the corrected releases of Junos Software, the new version of high-capacity fan tray show up correctly.

All releases of Junos Operating System software built after November 25th, 2014, contain the corrected code.
