Alert Description

Secure Analytics is undergoing a software and hardware re-architecture to improve overall system performance.

Current Secure Analytics platforms (STRM) do not have sufficient hardware resources to support this new software. 

Because of these hardware constraints, 2013.2 will be the last major software release supported on the old hardware platforms (STRM-Series).  

Solution

The two major components of the migration are license and configuration/data.

LICENSE MIGRATION

Juniper will support the migration of licenses, without additional cost, from STRM to JSA platforms of the equivalent platform type. Following are the migration options 



**NOTE: The JSA7500 [juniper.net] platform only supports distributed environment (Console, Event Processor (EP) or Flow Processor (FP)).


CONFIGURATION/DATA MIGRATION

It is possible to backup the configuration from the STRM platforms and restore the configuration to the JSA platforms. Both STRM and JSA must run the same version and build for the configuration migration to be successful. In addition to the configuration, it is possible to manually copy STRM Event and Flow data to the JSA appliance. This is an optional step that must be performed manually after the backup and restore process.
