When a Routing Engine (RE) or Routing and Control Board (RCB) experiences consecutive power fluctuations, the internal SSD may fail to initialize properly. This occurs because the SSD’s internal block allocation table rebuild process can be interrupted during unstable power conditions. You may encounter the following or similar symptoms indicating SSD detection issues:
No primary disk found. Aborting...
nvme nvme0: Device not ready; aborting reset, CSTS=0x1
For RE related maintenance work
PR1924362: Install an MX10004/MX10008 Routing and Control Board" section needs a note of "...wait for at least 1 minute or more and then re-insert back..."
After removing an RE or RCB, wait at least one minute before re-inserting it into the chassis. If the site has an unstable power feed and the above symptoms occur, power off the system for at least one minute before attempting to power it back on.
