Description

QFX5k with dual RE ( virtual chassis) devices running RIP rebooted and generated an RPD core dump, the issue is due to rip_replication_task is NULL in the rip_io_task_re_switchover_common function


Symptoms

  • The devices rebooted without any intervention.
  • This generated a core dump but there is no match to it.
  • The services are working now.

Solution

The issue is related to a software issue.
