This article describes an issue seen on SRX4600 devices where the device starts dropping packets resulting in an outage.

• Heavy packet loss seen on the device.
• All or part of the traffic flowing through the device is affected.
• No core-dump observed on the device.
• No error logs observed either.
• The only restoration method is to reboot the device.

This issue is being fixed via PR1823577, and the fix will be available in junos:21.4R3-S10, junos:22.2R3-S6, junos:22.4R3-S6, junos:23.2R2-S3, junos:23.2R2-S4, junos:23.4R2-S4, junos:24.2R2, junos:24.4R2, junos:25.1R1, junos:25.2R1. This is a race condition observed in SRX4600 devices resulting in packet loss.
