Description

This article provides steps to troubleshoot the 'Login: HTTPS Request Failed. SSL Connection Timeout' error in Juniper Secure Connect.

Symptoms

When a connection failure occurs, the Juniper Secure Connect client will display the following error message:

ERROR - Configuration download: Login: HTTPS request failed. SSL connection timeout

Solution

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1) Verify that HTTPS is allowed on the SRX external interface host-inbound traffic. If a Junos-host policy is used, ensure HTTPS is allowed.

2) Check that no inbound firewall filters are blocking port 443 connections on the SRX.

3) Perform a telnet test from the PC to port 443 to verify connectivity. If the connection fails, check if port 443 is blocked somewhere in the network.

4) Disconnect any other active VPNs on the PC and try again.
