"L2ALM: msg2master without IPC pipe/thread" log seen in 'messages', flooding the 'messages' file.
The L2ALM thread in the PFE attempts to make a connection to the Layer 2 Address Learning Daemon (L2ALD) on theRouting Engine. Please keep in mind that this thread is not used until Layer 2 (Transparent) mode is configured. If the SRX device is configured with Layer 3 mode, this message is harmless. However, it could be an issue if this happens in an SRX configured with Layer 2 (Transparent) mode. In such cases, further investigation with JTAC is recommended.
To address the flooding of this log message, you can restart the L2-L process using the command:root@srx> restart l2-learningIf restarting the process does not stop the logs and your device is a chassis cluster, you can also failover on both RG0 and RG1+. If that also does not stop the logs from showing up, rebooting the box may be necessary.
