This article details the allocated sizes for /var/log/journal and /var/log/traces on QFX5K EVO platforms.

Solution

On the QFX5K EVO platforms, /var/log/traces are allocated 20% of the /var partition, while the /var/log/journal are limited to 10% of /var or 4GB, whichever is smaller. 

 

For example, the /var partition is ~32G on a QFX5130.

This equates to roughly 6.3G for traces and 3.2G for journal.

3.2G   /var/log/journal

6.3G   /var/log/traces
