Description

The customer was unable to log via console on PTX10008 using Tacacs authentication


Symptoms

PTX10008 serial console login failed for tacacs users, which serial console login works for local user, and inband IP login also works for tacacs users.

Serial console login works for tacacs users on other QFX5120-48Y-8C device

Solution

The behavior of local authentication through console and remote authentication through management interface is the expected day 1 behavior on Junos EVO. This is tracked via PR1565251
