This article describes how to troubleshoot when the FPC reports "CM Error: PIC PWR Fail" on the log messages

The alarm reported on the chassis was as follows-

Despite all the FPC Major Error troubleshooting performed, the alarm persisted.

Checking the log messages, it was found that the FPC reported the following errors-

Here the issue lies on the FPC-4's PIC-0.

NEXT ACTIONS:

In this case the following next actions should be performed to fix the issue

• Remove the PIC-0 from the FPC-4 and check if the alarm clears. Check if PIC-0 gets removed from show chassis hardware. Or check inventory logs.
• If the alarm persists, then reboot/re-seat the FPC-4 and check again.
• If the alarm clears, then Re-insert the old PIC-0 again and check if the alarm re-appears.
• If the alarm persists, then replace the PIC-0 and check again.
• With each step, please check for any damage to the pins.

Issue was resolved after FPC-4's PIC-0 replacement.
