Description

On MX240/480/960 routers if the fan tray is absent (due to it was removed or due to a hardware failure) the following alarm is generated:

 user@router-re0> show system alarms
 Dec 10 19:04:26
 1 alarm currently active
 Alarm time               Class  Description
 2024-12-10 19:04:22 IST  Minor  Left Fan Tray Absent 


However after the router reboot the alarm disappears. As a result, the state of the missing fan tray might be unnoticed.


 


 


 
Solution
The behavior has been fixed so the alarm regarding missing fan tray is present after the router reboot.


The fixed Junos release numbers can be obtained by contacting JTAC.
