This article explains how to configure a firewall filter using J-Web.
How can a firewall filter be configured using J-Web and mapped to a VLAN?
Configuring a firewall filter using J-Web involves straightforward steps that can be completed by navigating through the J-Web GUI.
STEP 1: Log in to J-Web, click on the "Configure" tab, and then select "Filters" under the "Security" option.

STEP 2: On the filters page, click the "Add" icon located at the top right corner of the page. A pop-up will appear, allowing the entry of a new filter name. The "Add" icon can then be clicked to specify the requirements for the firewall filter.

STEP 3: After clicking the "Add" icon in the pop-up from Step 2, another pop-up appears where the match conditions for the firewall filter can be defined. In this pop-up, a name for the term must be provided, and the necessary match conditions, such as source and destination IP addresses, can be specified using the "Add" icon. Additionally, the required action, such as accept or deny, can be set.

Once completed, click "OK" in both pop-ups to save the configuration.
STEP 4: To map the configured firewall filter to the appropriate VLAN, navigate to Configure > Switching > VLAN page. Click the "Add" icon at the top right corner to configure a VLAN. If the VLAN is already configured, it will appear under the VLAN configuration tab.
Here, the configured firewall filter can be applied to the respective VLAN as input and output filters.

Please note that only one firewall filter can be applied to a VLAN.
STEP 5: After configuring the necessary settings, a commit operation is required to apply the changes. Any uncommitted changes on the switch will trigger a "commit pending" prompt near the "commit" tab. The commit can be performed by clicking the "Commit" tab and then selecting the "Commit" option.
