Description

This article explains how to troubleshoot, when you find FPC major error with the XMCHIP error code 0x70067 on the MX devices.

Symptoms

We might encounter the below parity errors on the XMCHIP by error detection or checksum:

  • A single occurrence of the above syslog events occurs, then it indicates a one-time hardware error. 
  • Traffic or permanent packet forwarding on the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) may be impacted if the errors are seen repeatedly
  • Multiple continuous occurrences indicate persistent underlying HW issues


Solution

Recommendation is to restart the FPC during the MW to clear the errors.


If the error persists, after restarting the FPC then the hardware has to be replaced.
