On affected SRX4600 devices, the system may crash when OSPF comes up under specific conditions. This behavior has been identified as a known software issue related to FPGA interrupt handling in certain Junos releases.

You may observe one or more of the following:

• The device crashes or generates a core dump when OSPF comes up
• VPN or packet-forwarding issues may be seen before or during the crash
• The device becomes stable only after disabling ipsec-performance-acceleration and power mode IPSEC

This issue is resolved by upgrading to a fixed Junos release.

Note: In some cases, disabling ipsec-performance-acceleration and power mode IPSEC may help the device stabilize temporarily, but the permanent fix is to upgrade to a corrected release.
