Solution

The CCG X Failure alarm indicates a problem with the Centralised Clock Generator (CCG) X on PTX5000 device. This alarm suggests that CCG X is not functioning correctly, which can affect the device's ability to synchronise timing across components.

The alarm can be triggered due to various reasons, including:

 

  • Hardware Failure: A malfunction in the CCG component itself.
  • Power Issues: Insufficient or unstable power supply to the CCG.
  • Temperature Problems: Overheating or abnormal temperature levels.
  • Communication Errors: Issues like I2C communication failures between the CCG and other components.

 

Use the following command to check the status of the CCG

 

>show chassis environment CCG

>show chassis alarms

 

In order to resolve the alarm Attempt to restart the CCG.If alarm remains active, Replace CCG if necessary.
