This article shows a basic completion of the Space CLI settings for a new virtual standalone machine without FIPS, NAT translation, or a separate device management interface and using IPv4 for the network.

To configure a Junos Space Virtual Appliance:

1- Using a virtual machine client (such as VMware vSphere Client or Virtual Machine Manager [VMM]), log in and power on the Junos Space Virtual Appliance.

2- Access the console on the virtual machine client to view the Junos Space login prompt.

3- At the Junos Space login prompt, type admin as your default login name and press Enter.

4- Type abc123 as the default administrator password and press Enter.

Junos Space prompts you to change your default password.

5- To change the default password, do the following:

Type the default password and press Enter.

Type your new password and press Enter.

Retype your new password and press Enter.

6- To the question, Do you want to enable FIPS mode of Space installation type N and press Enter.

7- Type S to install the virtual appliance as a Junos Space node.

8- Configure the IP address for the eth0 interface.

Type the IPv4 address for eth0 interface in dotted-decimal notation and press Enter.

Type the subnet mask for the IPv4 address and press Enter.

Type the IPv4 address of the default gateway for the eth0 Ethernet interface in dotted-decimal notation and press Enter.

9- Type the IPv4 address of the name server for the eth0 interface and press Enter.

10- Type N Configure a separate interface for device management.

11- Type N to the question will this Junos Space system be added to an existing cluster.

12- You are prompted to enter the IP address for Web access.

13- Type N to question, do you want to enable NAT service?

14- You are then prompted to configure the NTP server

15- Type a display name for this node and press Enter

16- Type the password for cluster maintenance mode and press Enter

17- The Settings Summary is displayed, Type A to apply
