  • Preparation: Ensure the old switch is claimed or adopted by your organization and assigned to a site (Connected or Disconnected state).
  • The new switch should be unassigned and listed on the Inventory page with the status Unassigned.
  • Replacement Steps:Navigate to Switches in the Mist portal.
  • Select the switch to be replaced from the list.
  • On the switch details page, choose Replace Switch from the Utilities drop-down.
  • Select the MAC address of the unassigned switch from the drop-down list.
  • Mist will copy the configuration from the old switch to the new one by default. Adjust configurations as needed.
  • If the new switch has a different number of ports, Mist will discard the port configuration. Ensure the site template meets the new switch’s requirements.
