This article discusses few important points to be checked when there are flaps seen for BGP Neighbor connected via WAN interfaces.

Symptoms

flaps seen for BGP Neighbor connected via WAN interfaces.

Solution

Make sure the relevant WAN interfaces are UP and fine.

Make sure there are no packet loss on the relevant WAN interfaces.

If the SSR is in HA, make sure HA status is fine.

Make sure there are no process core dumps using coredumpctl command.  (Ex. highway crash and during a highway crash, the interfaces will be release back and forth between 128T ( highway ) process and Linux OS , results in the flaps of BGP neighbor connected via first interface.)
