Description

This KB explains about below log messages seen on QFX5200:-

 

Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): WRITE_DMA. ACB: ca 00 22 78 0f 40 00 00 00 00 08 00
Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): CAM status: Command timeout
Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): Retrying command, 3 more tries remain

Symptoms

Below log messages seen on the device :-

 

Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): WRITE_DMA. ACB: ca 00 22 78 0f 40 00 00 00 00 08 00
Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): CAM status: Command timeout
Sep 23 05:59:37  device kernel: %KERN-2: (ada1:ata0:0:1:0): Retrying command, 3 more tries remain

 

Solution

The error logs are related to hard drive errors.

As these errors can be transient so please proceed with power cycling the device and check for re-occurence.

Incase the logs are seen again then please contact JTAC for further support
