Description

This article explains that the Junos Evo MIB package for version 22.4R3.23 is not available on the SNMP MIB download site, which only shows MIB packages up to version 22.4R3.10.

Symptoms

MIB packages are typically released in sync with Junos software releases.
There can sometimes be a delay between a software release and the availability of its corresponding MIB package

Solution

MIB (Management Information Base) packages are essential for SNMP monitoring and management of Juniper devices. They define the manageable objects on the network device. MIB packages are generally backward compatible within the same major release.

  • The MIB package for 22.4R3.10 is fully compatible with 22.4R3.23. There is no need for a separate MIB package for 22.4R3.23.
  • Juniper will not publish a new MIB package specifically for 22.4R3.23. The existing 22.4R3.10 package contains all necessary MIBs for both 22.4R3.10 and 22.4R3.23.
  • Any updates to MIB packages will be included in new Junos EVO versions, not in point releases like 22.4R3.23.
  • Use the MIB package for 22.4R3.10 with your 22.4R3.23 Junos EVO system.
  • This package will provide full SNMP functionality for your 22.4R3.23 system.

Always check the Juniper download site for the latest available MIB package for your major Junos EVO version. For any discrepancies or new SNMP features, refer to the release notes of your specific Junos EVO version. Please reach out to JTAC if you need more assistance required.
