  • This article is about SRX generating jnxJsScreenAttack SNMP alerts for ICMP flood

Symptoms

  • You will receive a SNMP alert as shown below:
jnxJsScreenAttack(icmpFlood. ICMP flood occurs when ICMP echo requests try to overload network processing)

Solution

  • This alert is generated if there is an ICMP flood attack on the device. ICMP flood attack overloads the device with many requests such that it spends all its resources responding until it can no longer process valid network traffic.
