Virtual chassis completely failed during a routine switch member replacement. Device seems to have come up with a factory default configuration.

As per the configuration the Member 3(replacement member in customer ) is in RE role and when they tried to replace with a RMA device the configuration which was set by default to master-priority 255 in the RMA device took effect.

This sync'd the configuration on the new RMA device to all the members as well, which caused all the other devices to go into problem state with default configuration.

All VC members will be set to default configuration.

Always zeroize the replacement member( any member even if its a LC role) in a VC to avoid issues.
