Description

Customer looking into upgrade ToR switches to the latest 22.2R3-Sx release (S4). Need to assess the impact of some of the current bugs/PR reports and the configuration before proceeding with the the upgrades.

 

1) PR1640307.

2) PR1698373.

3) PR1710627.

4) PR1714163

5) PR1608045.

Solution

 

  1. The following  PR1640307 shows up when cpu temperature crosses its threshold or cpu overheating, itt resets the device.

 

This PR is resolved-In

junos:19.1R3-S9 junos:20.2R3-S4 junos:20.2R3-S6 junos:20.4R3-S5 junos:22.3R3-S3 junos:22.4R1

 

Important: QFX5210-64C 650-079992 REV 16 or later will have BIOS V49 and CPU CPLD ver 0xf; please run root@d05-27> show chassis firmware to validate V49 is already installed, then BIOS upgrade will not be needed.

 

2. The following PR PR1698373 is already fixed under the following Junos versions

>>> junos:22.2R3-S3 (and subsequences like 22.2R3-Sx release (S4), so the version already has the fixed.

 

3. The following configuration "set protocols mpls no-propagate-ttl" does not match the PR PR1710627.

 

4. The presence of rib-group or instance-import config in itself is not the issue. Which means it does not the PR in question PR1714163. This issue happens only when rib-group for interface-routes leaking is configured, if you do not have these combination should not worry about it.
