Description

EBGP prefix is not being received by remote IBGP peers.

Example Topology:

prefix originated in AS65000--------->CE(65000.10152)<------------->PE1(65000)<------------route-reflector(65000)<------------>PE2(65000)

CE device sending prefix to EBGP PE with AS path 65000.

Solution

  • By default bgp will reject received routes if it has same local AS (e.g 65000) number in AS path sequence of received routes.
  • Receiving router will not accept any EBGP route if find its own local-AS unless the loops (BGP Address Family) statement is configured.
