You may notice that connecting an SRX380 to other devices using the SFP (xe) ports will not work, the ports will be down.

The 10G SFP XE ports on SRX380 will not come up.

The issue is SRX380's having auto-negotiation disabled by default and cannot be enabled, this is the expected behavior of the device.

This means a workaround is to disable auto-negotiation on the peer device.

The following releases implement the ability to enable auto-negotiation by configuring "set interfaces xe-0/0/XX gigether-options auto-negotiation":

For a few releases, this behavior was swapped, xe interfaces had auto-neg on by default and this behavior could not be changed, this was addressed in https://prsearch.juniper.net/problemreport/PR1776656
