Description

In EVPN routing instances where the following configuration is applied:

set routing-instances X vlans Y no-arp-suppression

there is a risk of traffic blackholing when an FPC card hosting the PE-CE interface is restarted.

Symptoms

  • Loss of EVPN traffic after FPC restart

  • Inability to reach destinations through affected PE-CE interfaces

Solution

The "no-arp-suppression" configuration knob has been deprecated. To resolve this issue, remove the "no-arp-suppression" configuration and restart all FPCs hosting PE-CE interfaces where this knob may have been applied.
