Solution

The below steps need to be performed to narrow down the FPC issue or the slot issue
 
  • Reseat or Swap FPC2:

    • Reseat FPC2: Remove and reinsert FPC2 into its current slot. Ensure that it is securely and correctly seated.
    • Swap FPC2: If reseating does not resolve the issue, move FPC2 to another empty slot in the chassis. This will help determine if the issue is related to the slot itself.
  • Check PIC Status:

    • After reseating or swapping FPC2, verify the status of PICs and FPC2. Ensure that all PICs are correctly recognized and displaying information as expected.
  • Verify SFP Connections:

    • Ensure that the SFPs are properly connected to their respective ports on FPC2. Loose or improperly connected SFPs can cause issues with PICs.
  • Check Ports under PICs:

    • Verify that the ports on the PICs are appearing correctly and are functional. This includes checking for any display or operational issues.
  • Test with Spare FPC:

    • If available, swap the spare FPC into Slot 2 with the current PICs. Observe if the same issue persists with the spare FPC.
