Evo Memory utilization after router reboot
show chassis routing-engine reports increased memory utilization after router reboot for few days.
In Evo systems, it's expected that after router reboot the system memory increases 8-12% or more due to the default tracing activity even though the route scale is same.
During this time, buffer/cache memory will keep increasing till it stabilizes.
The following commands can be used to verify the memory consumption:
show chassis routing-engine
show system processes extensive
show system memory
If the memory is continuously increasing even after 2 weeks, the increase in memory can be troubleshooted to identify which app is increasing from the above commands.
