Description

This article explains the current behavior and limitations regarding Fusion (satellite) device visibility in JSI and provides guidance for requesting support.

Symptoms

  • Satellite (Fusion) devices do not appear in the JSI portal.

  • These devices do not have a management address as they function as linecards (FPCs) for the parent device onboarded in JSI.

  • Example: QFX devices fused to MX204s are not discovered during the JSI onboarding process.

Solution

  • JSI currently does not support satellite devices in Junos Fusion.

  • The command show chassis hardware satellite is not included in the JSI command set, so satellite devices are not displayed in reports.

  • Satellite devices will not appear in JSI reports due to the current limitation. To request support for Fusion satellite devices, contact the JSI-PLM email alias to submit an enhancement request.
