Symptoms

The device will not show any optics under "show chassis hardware" command output

Solution

  1. Kindly check for log messages indicating any hardware issue.
  2. Check for below commands and see if PIC's are online and if optics are detected hardware level ,

show chassis fpc pic-status 

 

start shell

%show qsf list

%show sfp list

%vty fpc0

# show syslog messages

 

3. Try to plug out and plugin the SFP's

4.Try the same SFP in another device and see if it comes up

5.Power drain the device and check if SFP's are detected.

6.If all the above steps fail, create a case with JTAC .
