Symptoms

Jun 2 15:37:36 NSS_FW chassisd[2039]: CHASSISD_IPC_UNEXPECTED_RECV: Received unexpected message from craftd: type = 4, subtype = 44

Jun 2 15:37:36 NSS_FW alarmd[2040]: Alarm set: License id=0, color=YELLOW, class=CHASSIS, reason=Web Filtering EWF(115) usage requires a license

Solution

On all SRX platforms with any license feature is enabled, a false alarm is generated. This happens to any random licence. These error logs will not cause any harm as this is just a false alarm.


To clear the alarms we need to delete and re-add the licenses. If the alarm is still present, a reboot will fix it.
