Description

Manual shutdown of all links on one FPC triggered BGP flaps during re-convergence time (alternate path was available).

Symptoms

On PTX10001-36MR/PTX10004/PTX10008 and PTX10016 platforms with many LAGs convergence time may be deteriorated if adaptive load balancing is used on the LAGs.
Due to slower convergence transient traffic drop may be seen when multiple child links are going down simultaneously.
 

Solution

This issue is applicable to AE interfaces for which adaptive load balancing is enabled. When AE interface state changes, higher convergence time can be seen during FRR, compared to regular AE.

This issue is fixed in the Junos Releases listed in  PR1784498

Workaround: disable adaptive load balancing
