Symptoms

Below errors and Alarms will be seen on PTX10k3-160C.

root@router> show system alarms no-forwarding

3 alarms currently active

Alarm time        Class Description

2024-01-20 23:52:45 PST Major PDU 0 PSM 0 Input Failed

2024-01-20 23:53:19 PST Major Zone 0 No Redundant Power

Solution

  1. The PTX10003-160C is powered by four power supplies for 2+2 redundancy.

user@device> show chassis power

Chassis Power Input(V) Used(W)

Total Power 2052

PDU 0 2052

PSM 0

Input 1 226 489

Capacity: 3000 W (maximum 3000 W)

PSM 1

Input 1 227 546

Capacity: 3000 W (maximum 3000 W)

PSM 2

Input 1 226 435

Capacity: 3000 W (maximum 3000 W)

PSM 3

Input 1 227 582

Capacity: 3000 W (maximum 3000 W)

  1. The PSM Input failed alarm is an indication that the Input feed to the PSM has failed and hence the PSM has gone into check state. Since the PSM0 and PSM1 has failed, the router has lost 2+2 PSM redundancy and hence the router reports 'Zone 0 No Redundant Power'
  2. In order to resolve the issue, Pls check the Inout feed to PSMs.
  3. If the feeds are working, Pls contact JTAC
