Solution

The error logs are related to auto-negotiation which seems to be failing for the SFP inserted in the affected interface.

Below are Steps which can be performed to troubleshoot this issue:-
  • Insert a loop-back plug on this interface and check if it comes up.If yes then issue is with SFP.
  • change the SFP and cable and check if the interface comes up.
  • If the above does not help there are slight chances of transient hardware issue in the interface slot for which the recommended workaround is to reboot the device in planned maintenance window.
If none of the steps help then please open a JTAC case for further investigation.
