The Article explains the First Junos OS Release supported on QFX5120-48Y device

While upgrading the device using command "request system software add <image location>" , the upgrade process will not go through and will we will see below error,

Error:

ERROR: Installation failed. This image is not compatible with this platform.

ERROR: Failed to add jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64-18.1R3-S6.1-secure-signed.tgz



• This is expected behaviour when we are using Junos Image from 18.3 release since the supported Junos release on QFX5120-48Y is from 18.3R1
