Description

This article outlines an issue with QFX5100 where after the upgrade of the device the protocols like LDP/OSPF/BGP were down on an interface.

Symptoms

1. LDP/OSPF/BGP protocols down on one interface.
2. LACP up on the given interface and stats incrementing on both TX and RX for lacp.
3. Optics related failure logs seen in the log message.
4. Protocols up on other interfaces.
5. TCP dump only shows protocol keepalive going out but not coming in.

Solution

1. If we observe the errors related to the optics/sfp/qsfp then we can try to reseat/clean the optics on both ends and plug back and check.
2. Replace the optics/cables on the interface.
