Description

SFP on ex2300-48mp PIC 1 appears to flap or removed resulting in the link going down.

Symptoms

> Recurring connectivity issues with the use of SFP modules, both copper and fiber, which appear to be flapping and going down.

> Reinserting the modules temporarily resolves the issue, but the fault can reoccur.

> This problem is exclusive to the SFP modules and does not affect the regular inbuilt interfaces, whether used standalone or aggregated.

Solution

> There were issues with CMIC SPI bus transfers, where Lock/Unlock operations weren't available and concurrent access could lead to lockups triggering watchdog timeouts and resets.

> The fix involves preventing concurrent access to the CMIC SPI bus by implementing Lock/Unlock mechanisms during transactions ensuring that only one process can access the bus at a time, preventing conflicts and potential system failures.
