Description

Traffic has been sent to vlan interface but ipdemux hasn't received it.

This issue looks like ipdemux interface filter doesn't work, the traffic has been forwarded by vlan interface.

Symptoms

Dhcp subscriber login and created ipdemux interface:

user@mx# run show subscribers extensive

Traffic has been sent to vlan:

   Input packets: 1655 10 pps
   Output packets: 0 0 pps

But ipdemux interface has not received it:
user@mx# run show interfaces demux0.3221225472 extensive | match pps
   Input packets: 0 0 pps
   Output packets: 0 0 pps

Solution

This issue could be caused by demux source has not configured on vlan interface.

There are two methods  adding demux source, only one can take effect.
If configured two knobs at same time, commit check will report error.

For static vlan:

1.#set interfaces xe-0/2/0 unit 100 demux-source inet
2.#set interfaces xe-0/2/0 unit 100 demux inet address source

For dynamic vlan:

1.#set dynamic-profiles vlan-profile interfaces "$junos-interface-ifd-name" unit "$junos-interface-unit" demux-source inet
2.#set dynamic-profiles vlan-profile interfaces "$junos-interface-ifd-name" unit "$junos-interface-unit" demux inet address source

After modified configuration, dhcp subscriber needs to redial and let new configuration take effect.
