Solution

The logging level for this message is "NOTICE". The log message is not an error and may not have a service impact. However this needs to be investigated further.

 

  1. Check if the interface got flapped or the interface was brought down by a CLI command.
  2. Check for the peer router interface and see if the interface was brought down from the peer end.
  3. Check if there are any SFP issues or loss of signal. Check if the SFP is receiving sufficient power.
  4. Check for the logs before this particular syslog message to see for clues regarding the occurrence.
  5. Check PFE syslog and VARlogs for further clues
