Description

Getting error of "HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device SECURITY_UNLOCK: Inappropriate ioctl for device" when trying to change Junos to 20.X.

e.g.

Symptoms

Upgrade failed error log with "HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device SECURITY_UNLOCK: Inappropriate ioctl for device" when trying to change code to 20.X.

 

Solution

This is expected issue as MX304 is not supporting 20.X, minimum software is 22.X.
