This article provides solutions for scenarios where executing the "show chassis hardware" command does not generate complete information for certain FRUs, with issues such as absent serial numbers or RE types.

When command "show chassis hardware" executed, the version, Part number, and Serial number information is missing.

For example:

Routing Engine 1 RE-S-2X00x6 <<<<<<< Serial number and part number is missing 

We can follow the below procedure in order to resolve the issue.

Let suppose we are not able to see RE1 information.

1.) We can try Re-Boot RE1

2.) If step 1 does not resolve the issue try Re-Seat RE1.

Additionally, consider performing a mastership switchover and then checking the command outputs for RE1.
