Description

This article explains the meaning of the alarm, 'Vsensor 11:PE0 AVDD 1.0V Beyond Margin​' and how to clear it.

Symptoms

The following alarm is seen on PTX and QFX devices:

Solution

This alarm is due to the PE chip of the FPC utilizing more power than the amount allocated by the FPC, causing the temperature to rise. For power and temperature alarms, use the 'show chassis environment fpc' operational mode command to obtain detailed information on the internal state of the chassis:

Once the PE chip exceeds its allocated power and the alarm is raised, then the Chassis will reboot the desired FPC (Flexible PIC Concentrator) in order to self-heal and clear the alarm. In the case of a stand-alone device, the chassis will reboot the RE (Routing Engine) to make an attempt to self-heal the issue.

 

If the alarm is not cleared post-reboot, then it is an indication of an issue with one of the power components on the board. The issue could be with a power component called MOS-FET (transistor). This needs an RMA of the chassis.
