Description

The QFX-EM-4Q provides 4 additional 40-Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ ports and can be inserted in PIC1 or PIC2 of QFX5k switches.This KB explains the steps to troubleshoot module down issue for "QFX-EM-4Q" 

Symptoms

Module "QFX-EM-4Q" on QFX5k switch will be down

Solution

Please follow the below steps to troubleshoot

Step1:-  Please reseat the module on the device and check if it comes up

Step 2:- Please power cycle the device and check if the module comes up

Step 3:-  There can also be a software issue causing this which is explained below KB:-

If none of the above helps then please open a JTAC case as the module or chassis may require an RMA.
